For the past 10 years, we have been fortunate to offer an annual trip to the town of Consuelo in the Dominican Republic. The experience remains equally as powerful as it first was in 2014. Our relationship with the community in the DR continues to grow year-over-year.
Your support helps forge stronger ties with our welcoming hosts, and each year we have been able to expand our service efforts and capital contributions to the community. We currently support the Grey Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, the Foundation for Peace’s (FFP) House of Light Disabled Orphanage, FFP El Batey, Cachena Batey, and Chicharrone Batey. We have gratefully provided the full funding of medical school expenses for 2 young women from Consuelo who we are proud to say will be graduating this spring. Over the last decade, student-athletes and their families/friends have donated over $150,000 to the greater Consuelo community.
On February 14, 2024, we are heading back with 36 student-athletes, many of whom are experiencing this trip for the first time. As such, we are calling on those who are able to help us. There is a greater need than ever in Consuelo due to the pandemic and we are hopeful to provide as much support as possible in February.
Foggy Bottom Youth Baseball Foundation, a 501C3 non-profit organization (Tax ID 26-2148263), is based in Northwest DC. While any amount will make an impact, donors of $250 or more will receive electronic & mailed gift letters for tax purposes. Donors can also choose to opt-in to daily email updates/photos while we are on the ground in Consuelo.
Thank you for your continued support and consideration.
